Dr. Heather Edwards (FRCSC, MD, PH.D., B.Ed., M.Sc., B.Sc.H)
With a track record of delivering babies and performing complicated surgeries in the thousands and ongoing, Dr. Edwards has established herself as one of the most accomplished Pelvic Floor Surgeons & OBGYN’s in the medical field.
After completing her undergraduate degrees (Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education) she went on to receive her Master of Science in the field of Reproductive Physiology, at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.
Honouring her M.D., and Ph.D. in the Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto, she pursued a postdoctoral 2-year fellowship at the same institution in the field of Neuroendocrinology.
After moving out West to Calgary, Alberta, she completed her 5-year speciality residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with extra resident training in the field of Urogynecology. She was promoted as an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary wherein she released several award-winning Publications. She served as part of the Surgical Staff at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary for close to two decades, as a high-risk Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a speciality focus on Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Surgery.
Dr. Edwards is now back to Ontario and practices as a speciality Surgeon out of the Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket. She is an advocate focused on advancing Women’s Health and specializes in offering comprehensive care encompassing Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Refractory Menorrhagia, Ovarian & Uterine Masses, High & Low-Risk Obstetrics, Urogynecology, Pelvic Floor Surgery, Bladder Incontinence and Intimate Sexual Health Function.
Dr. Edwards is also an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and McMaster University.

Dr. Helen Yang
MD FRCSC, Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Yang is a Fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, having completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta. She received her degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University, went on to pursue a Master's degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, then completed her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Ottawa. Dr. Yang has received a variety of academic honours and awards, including those from Women and Children’s Health Research Institute and the Duchesnay International Elective Fellowships. Her research interests include quality-based improvements of surgical instruments in healthcare. She is also interested in global women’s health and has completed several electives in Bangladesh, South Africa and Brazil. In the past year, she has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket and the Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, Ontario. She is actively involved in medical education and clinical teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is passionate about women’s health in all aspects from providing preventative care and comprehensive obstetrical care, to helping women of all ages navigate through common gynecological issues. Dr. Yang is fluent in both English and Korean.
Dr. Kammie Chow
MD, FRCSC Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Kammie Chow is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who practices at Southlake Regional hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degree from McMaster University and then moved on to Montreal where she completed her medical degree at McGill University. She continued eastward and completed her residency training at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dr. Chow's research interests include quality improvement and medical education. She received the award for Best Resident Research for her work in creating 3D printed obstetrical models for medical student training. Dr. Chow is committed to providing patient centred care to women of all ages. In addition to her obstetrical practice, she also has special interests in colposcopy and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr Chow speaks English, French and Cantonese.
Dr. Meghan MacKinnon, NCMP

Dr. Meghan MacKinnon is passionate about supporting women experiencing hormonal challenges associated with perimenopause & menopause. Annette holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and a Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Annette has professional experience of over 20 years working with those individuals who suffer from chronic pain, anxiety, depression and loss. Women’s mental health is a passion for Annette and embodies the majority of her work. Annette’s knowledge allows her to work with women as they undergo unique physiological changes in various stages of life which affects them physically and emotionally (menstruation, pregnancy and delivery and menopause).
Alison Ribeiro
Pelvic Physiotherapist
Alison completed her Honour’s Bachelor of Kinesiology at McMaster University and her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Alison is passionate about pelvic health and helping women at any stage of life engage with and connect to their pelvic floor to empower them to live a life that they want to live without fear of pelvic floor dysfunction. She has completed several courses in pelvic health, acupuncture, manual therapy and McKenzie MDT, all of which help to enhance her practice.
Stephanie Maza

Stephanie has over 5 years of experience working as a mental health clinician in various clinical settings and practices a range of treatment modalities. Stephanie has a passion for helping her clients through the various impacts life can bring. Through a collaborative client-therapist relationship, Stephanie helps individuals heal emotional wounds, build resiliency and work towards their goals to live a life full of happiness, fulfillment and purpose. She has 10 years of nursing experience which have been focused on women’s health. In the past, she has worked in surgical oncology, plastic surgery, gynecology and clinical research. Erin is passionate about educating and supporting women to improve their health.

Michelle is a Registered Nurse at both Southlake Regional Health Centre and St. Joseph's Health Centre in the Family Birthing Unit. In 2009, she graduated with honours from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then achieved a Maternity Nursing Certificate at Humber College. Michelle is passionate about women's health, in addition to providing care for women and babies from pregnancy through post-partum. She is a great communicator and works well with any interdisciplinary team.
Bev Armstrong

Bev is a Registered Nurse at Southlake Regional Health Center in Newmarket on the Labour and Delivery Unit. Bev has been a RN for 20 plus years working with women’s health. She has worked in Barrie at RVH & Edmonton Alberta at the Royal Alex Woman’s Hospital along with Community Nursing & Clinical Nursing at walk in clinics. Bev is caring, compassionate, empathetic and always willing to help find a logical solution to any problem.
Dr. Katherine E. Wynne-Edwards
Professor, University of Calgary
Dr. Wynne-Edwards has broad interests in endocrinology. A major focus of her research has been to understand the hormonal and neuroendocrine basis for parental behaviour, using an exceptional hamster model of fatherhood, as well as men. She is also increasingly interested in hormone dynamics within individuals and information coded in the magnitude of within-individual variability in hormone concentration.
